I lost $30 and my friend lost $300.

Can you imagine if there’s a lot of cells of coding, and you said that cell 1 isnot wrong 100% but just 50%, and it happended for all cells? Do you think the code is working properly (at lest 50%)? Definetly no.

Comment on What Is μ in Physics? by Dave https://academichelp.net/stem/physics/what-is-mu-2.html/#comment-23409 Mon, 30 Dec 2024 20:09:24 +0000 https://academichelp.net/?p=107032#comment-23409 I’m a hobbyist but a forever student.

This is a two-part question: As applied to permeability, how do mu’ and mu” fit into the equations? My understanding is that mu’ it the real or resistive portion and m” is the imaginary or reactive portion of the energy that’s stored in the core.

Secondly, does the intersection of the mu’ and mu”, on a complex permeability graph (chart) indicate the frequency of self-resonance?

Thank you.

Whoever wrote this article made a sick joke.

I used to be an avid EasyBib user but as time goes on the site gets worse and worse. You used to get almost all features entirely free and now it doesn’t even let you do one citation with about 100 ads or you have to pay. Bibguru is simple, straightforward, and the only site I have found that has decent in-text citations. It also automatically sorts the citations by alphabetical order and inputs a list of citations into the proper format. Of course, there could be ways to improve it but it is my favourite citation website by-far.

He couldn’t get funding from Portugal for sailing to the new land. So, he went to the King and Queen of Spain. They offered him funding in exchange for gold, etc. Vespucci was a glorious writer, and wrote about their journey’s in detail. Columbus never made it to America, just to the Caribbean islands. He was mainly sailing to get slaves. Amerigo, on the other hand, wanted to get to know the cultures of the indigenous people they met. Amerigo invented the knot system, which is still well known, for figuring out at what speed the ships were sailing. He also invented new navigation for the ships, to keep them together. After sailing for Spain a few times, Portugal finally relented, and funded Vespucci for his next sailing. This trip landed them in the Country we now call Brazil. Vespucci was Porteghese, and the treaty was made to give that land to Portugal, as they had funded him.

Amerigo Vespucci was a talented writer and artist. The map maker in Europe found a map of the new world made by Amerigo Vespucci, and named it America. Columbus wasn’t happy about it, but the map was out, and obviously the name is still America today. That’s why education is important. Vespucci wasn’t just a Captain, he was also an inventor, reader, writer and politician. He was the first ambassador to bring Spain and Portugal to an amicable agreement.

Comment on The Difference in Sentience vs Sapience by Blue https://academichelp.net/humanities/philosophy/sentience-vs-sapience.html/#comment-21528 Thu, 29 Aug 2024 01:16:25 +0000 https://academichelp.net/?p=138120#comment-21528 In reply to nroejb.

Agreed. I mean, doesn’t trainability rely on a certain level of sapience, given that training relies on the ability to learn from previous experiences? Also, animals can definitely learn from previous experiences more broadly and can make connections between different things and thus anticipate events. I regularly make myself a sandwich and get some tea at a specific time and while my cat can’t tell the time, he knows that if I put the kettle on, sometimes I will also be opening the fridge and getting food from it and he might get some of (not too much, the little glutton; I don’t want to make him). He follows me to the kitchen he sees or hears me go that way but he ALSO comes to the kitchen if he hears someone switching on the kettle or hears it boiling. So, if learning from prior experience and recognising patterns is a mark of sapience, animals must possess some of it, even if not to the extent humans do. My cat’s not all of the way there but he’s SOME of the way there.

First of all, they take TWENTY-FIVE PERCENT. Absolutely abominable and astronomical!

FYI I’m writing this because they terminated me as a tutor – full disclosure. They have a comprehensive bunch of agreements, and they said it’s because of section 18b of the agreement. The agreement is at https://support.wyzant.com/hc/en-us/articles/210395963-Independent-Tutor-Agreement, and 18b reads as follows: “(b) Independent Tutor’s material breach of this Agreement, violation of the Wyzant Terms of Use or Tutor Payment Policies, or misuse of the Site. – WITHOUT hyperlinks to the other agreements.

And how did they do this? They just DID IT. They sent me an Email saying they’re “ending my access… effective immediately” becaue I supposedly violated the above, and then they ask for DOCUMENTS if I disagree! WHAT documents? To prove or disprove WHAT? And when I write back to ask, they say, “we’re customer support – we don’t have the ability to research”! NOW what? They say they’ve “conducted a review”. Was I involved? Did they ask me ANYTHING? Did they give even ONE specific detail? NOTHING!
These idiots are a JOKE, and a bunch of NEO-NAZIs. Tutors and students: AVOID WYZANT LIKE THE PLAGUE!!

This is so disheartening and discouraging. Finishing a unit was achieving a milestone and motivated me to continue my daily learning. Now, it feels like all of my time and effort to maintain my daily streak and complete each unit was a waste. I have five months left on my membership and after this, I don’t plan on renewing it. I will continue my daily lessons which are mainly review with very little new info added. Duolingo threw away all of my progress for that. I also use Babbel which will be my primary language learning app after my Duolingo subscription expires.

This concept is closely tied to human-like intelligence and is considered a unique characteristic of humans.”
I think this needs some serious reworking, aside possibly from “reason” all of these are pretty common, not just among mammals.
Either the the unique parts should be expanded uppon and the non unique parts removed, or the people serving as source for this article, who would possibly consider such common traits “unique characteristic of humans”, should be named to help avoid accidentally making use of any of their other statements.
